Really, to become a midwife, you would need to become a RN (i am a RN). Here is a link that will give you some more info on becoming a CNM. Hope it helps.

I am also an RN.....you do not need to be an RN to become a midwife but as I stated not all states recognize professional midwives.....here is a link for you to research all teh different avenues available to becoming a midwife.

yeah i really don't want to do nurse midwifery. i could but its not what i want. i see a number of midwives out here in portland that aren't nurse midwives, and i have noticed that a lot of nurse midwives tend to be very OB about their midwifery, vs the traditionl midwifery option.
