My son is 7, in the 1st grade, and everyday he amazes me with his newfound reading skills. I wish I could remember how much the world must open up when you can make sense out of all the words that surround us everyday.
Last night he did two totally cute things, the first was on his reading log. Every night one of his homework assignments is to read a book and answer the same questions regarding that book. As I was reviewing his reading log, there was a sentence that read, "When Annie finally qoperaded with her family." I sat there trying to figure out what that word could be. When I asked him he said, "cooperated." Normally I make him correct his spelling but I was so proud of him for attempting to use such a big word that I left it as is.
Later, for dessert, he wanted some ice cream. I accompanied him to the freezer and he saw a box that looked similar to the ice cream box. He said, "Way-fleas, what kind of ice cream is that?" It was a box of frozen WAFFLES!! TO STINKING CUTE! I am so proud of my young boy genius. Had to share.
