My daughter recently had a bout of direah. She developed a bad yeast rash which is now spreading down her legs and back. I took her to the doctor and she thought is was her eczema. She does have ecema flare ups on her hands but I really think this is just the yeast spreading. I have been using Monostat and Athletes foot cream and it is just not going away after two weeks. The doctor gave me a steroid cream to use - which is doing nothing as well. HELP SOS PLEASE!!!

Jan. 31, 2008 at 5:59 PM Plain Yogurt - you'll notice a difference in 24 hours. Use it like diaper ointment. I thought the baby sitter was nuts unti I saw the difference.

What the above said.  Plain yogurt, smear it on her bottom, or wherever the rash is.

Also, breastmilk works, if you have any expressed breastmilk.

If it starts to crack and bleed, you may want to break out the lansinoh cream.

Jan. 31, 2008 at 6:46 PM if you're breastfeeding, start taking a probiotic from a health food store and they will help control yeast.  if you're bottlefeeding, you can still take a capsule, open it, and sprinkle anywhere from 1/4 to all of it.  other than that, there is Earth Mama Angel Baby baby bottom diaper salve that worked the one time my girl got a rash from some new food.  HTH!!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 7:16 AM If she has a yeast infection diaper rash, the infection is quite possibly in her diagestional track- especially if she has been on antibiotics. Her natural stomach bacteria will readjust in a few days, but normally it takes a prescription from the doctor to totally cure the actual diaper rash. Nystatin is what they call in for me. If it gets bloody- do not wait, call your doc.
