So, a week or so ago I got a basic flyer in the mail about the Breast Cancer 3-Day, and I decided to go online and request more info on it.  It arrived today, and included a more indepth flyer, a letter of local info, registration form, DVD and a "promise ring".  After viewing the DVD, I'm feeling really called to do the walk in September that is here in Seattle.

My mom and I ordered the Momentum Fitness kit which should arrive in the next week or so, and I think I could be in shape enough for it by then.  The walk itself is 60 miles, and you are required to raise AT LEAST $2200.  So, here are my questions:

1) Anyone want to do it with me and join my "team"?

2) Anyone willing and able to sponsor me?

3) Will you help keep me motivated?

Breast Cancer is in my family, my aunt (mom's sister), has had it, and I think others on that side especially have had it.  After hearing all the stories about mom's who weren't there for their children at such life-changing milestones (like becoming a teen, prom, getting a driver's license, etc), I don't want to be one of them.  You have to register with a non-refundable $90 payment, so I can't register until I've saved that much, but I have a little bit of time, anyway.  :)

Feb. 1, 2008 at 11:45 AM Wow, Laura!  That's neat.  I've never heard of the 3-day thing, but that sounds awesome.  My mom and step-mom both had breast cancer, so it's close to my family.  I will keep in touch to see how you're doing preparing!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 12:14 PM Breast cancer is also in my family and I really wanted to do the 3-day walk in Seattle..  Even though it's for a great cause, I just decided that the $2200 MINIMUM and $90 registration was too steep for me. :(
