Did you all watch the debate last night?? I did. It was scary. Hillary Clinton is very slick. I am afraid voters will be taken in by her confidence and she will be elected. I can imagine three years from now. She will look the viewers straight in the eyes and flash that saccharine smile and tell us America is safer than ever, while bombs blast and young soldiers are dropping dead in the background. She has had years of experience in front of cameras, answering REALLY uncomfortable questions, and acting like everything is OK.  I mean, how do you justify staying with a husband who has a twinkie giving him blow jobs in his office, and the whole world is laughing? What kind of scrupulous woman would stay? Well, I could understand a woman with a strict religious devotion to maintaining a marriage, but we can guess that does not apply to Hillary. She stayed with Bill to stay in the spotlight. To get attention, to get elected to the Senate, and now the Democratic nomination.

But I am digressing from my point. While watching the debate I thought Hillary was clearly more comfortable with the cameras, more composed. Obama looked nervous at times. Hillary gathered thunderous applause a few times. But if you listened carefully, the applause was for what she said, not what she has done. She said things like “I have spoken here there and everywhere about womens’ rights” (Thunderous applause.) But that’s the problem She has gone around the world SPEAKING. Can she point to any actual results, changes in policy toward women anywhere?

Ladies please, don’t be fooled by slickness and poise. Barack Obama may seem a bit new, nervous, perhaps naïve, but as he kept saying, he has better judgment. I believe in the end he will make the choices that keep the majority of Americans safe, secure, and just maybe prosperous. Hillary will do what she believes makes her appear more powerful, more successful. Why did she support the start of the war? It had nothing to do with available intelligence at the time. She supported it because it was the popular political thing to do. America was hurting and looking for action. George Bush, with the backing of opportunists like Clinton, gave it to us. I totally support Obama for having the courage to say no to this ridiculous war.

Updating, here is a link that another mom gave me. It links to Obama's info, but you can click on other candidates from there.

BTW, Obama was not my first choice, I started off supporting Bill Richardson. He was experienced, scrupulous, and boring. He fizzled out because he couldn't get enough publicity.  Seems that being slick gets it...

Did you forget 9/11 ?? Sounds like you did

I would say thats a pretty good reason to go to war

as far as the WMD , Saddam SAID that he had them, and even though the liberal media likes to say there were none , HOW DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE??
Do you think they could not have been moved to Jordan or Iran??

Thats a chance I am NOT willing to take for my and my childrens future

The war was  STARTED on AMERICAN soil ( actually YEARS before when Billy Bob was too busy getting BJ'S )

President Bush was thrusted into this in the early months of his presidency , therefore ( unfortunatly ) things that he had planned for this Country HAD to be put on the back burner )

Peoples throats were slit, they CUT PEOPLES HEADS OFF without even thinking , THEY BLOW THEMSELVES and EVEN their children up to KILL you and yours.

These two candidates would be fine ( in "normal " times")

However , the LAST thing we need with theses MONSTERS is diplomacy, how do you be "DIPLOMATIC " with people that want to DESTROY you for breathing??

IF I HAD to have a DEM , ( God forbid ) I WOULD pick Barack, but only because I  CAN"T STAND the blow up doll!

You see, this is just my point. I did not forget 9/11. Sure it's a reason to go to war, but with whom?

If we want to be secure, we must go after the right target. Saddam was not involved in 911. Al-quaida was not in Iraq until AFTER we got there.

As I said, we were attacked, we wanted a response. But to whom??? WHo should we have gone to war with? WHo is this THEY???  Who are these MONSTERS? "THEY SLIT THROATS"  OK. but who? The innocent Iraqi civilians who are now suffering worse violence than they did under Saddam ?  I don't think attacking the mosy available country located in the same region of the world as the 911 attackers was the right response.

Anyway, I can see you are a Republican, so I will just agree to disagree with you. But thanks for the comment on the blow-up doll. That's my main point. Don't let her fool you.

Do you think they could not have been moved to Jordan or Iran??

According to the FBI agent that worked closely with Saddam when he was captured Saddam admitted that there were not WMD's.  The UN destroyed what they found and he ordered the others to be destroyed by his own people but kept up the charade so that Iran would think he still had them.  He had a beef with Iran.  I believe that to be partially true.  I think he had them but just moved them.

Saddam was also asked about Osama Bin Laden and his repsonse was that he thought Osama was a fanatic.  He went on to state that fanatics are dangerous.  When asked if he had any ties to him he responded no.  Now you may think I am a bit naive but I believe his statement.

This was all on 60 Minutes this past Sunday.  (If you didn't see it then you can go to www.cbs.com and find it there) but this FBI agent was one of the very few that worked with Saddam to develop a repore to get information.  Saddam believed that this FBI agent answered directly to the President even though that was not the case.  This disturbs me.  Our fight is really with Afghanistan more than it is with Iraq.  I believe that Saddam had to be taken down eventually because of things that he would possibly do in the future.  But we caught him and now he's dead.  Where is the SOB that really attacked us on our own turf?  Well, he's still out there and most likely laughing at us.

In light of this information I am very disturbed that we are still at war some 4 years later.  While I think it will be a historical event when Iraq finally becomes a democracy I don't think the way that we went about to help make that possible was right in any way, shape, or form.

The Iraqi people are killing our troops.  My nephew is there and has been for over a year.  Their unit was being bombed by Iraqi's and the military didn't let them do anything until soldiers were killed.  This idiot of a President wanted Saddam gone...remember his speech that included..."After all, he threatened my Daddy."  Now, there is a good reason for thousand of our people and theirs to die.  George Herbert Walker Bush's pride and justice.  No thanks!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 3:31 PM I believe that Obama is promising a bunch of things that he CAN'T make come true. He's new in this, BUT he knows that this war is and needs to be stopped. I like Hillary, but had an eye-opening experience after reading this.

Also people, don't forget who trained Osama Bin Laden.  We did, in the Reagan years

We funded and funnelled money and arms to him.. Why to remove the Soviet threat.   Then we drew a line in the sand when Bush Sr. was in office.     Everyone seems to forget history unless its to their advantage....
