Yesterday my daughter came home from school and said that she had to put a spoon under her bed and wear her pajamas inside out and backward so that it might snow and she wanted a snow day. WHAT???The weather called for rain, sleet and snow and it was unclear if we were going to get snow ice or just rain. Turns out it just rained, and talk about miffed, my daughter was sad to see that it didn't work.

I thought it odd that the teacher would tell them something like that but then my husband said he heard the same superstition on the radio morning show that morning!  I guess she learned that you can't believe everything you are told and the meaning of the word superstition.
