I have one with an ADHD dx.  We are testing our ds2 for the possibility of a LD or ADD.

It's possible that my ds3 has ADHD, but I'm not willing to test him yet...it could just be immiturity.

When my son was 16 he was diagnosed with Turet's syndrome. He had a lot of emotional problems at the time and dropped out of school when he was old enough, the teachers didn't want to deal with him. He is now 32 and doing pretty good. married and working most of the time.

Feb. 1, 2008 at 9:16 AM That's good! Too bad he dropped out of school, but I am glad he's doing good! Married, and working! My son, Nathan (4) is an annoying little boy, but I love him all the same.

Feb. 1, 2008 at 10:19 AM My boys(twins) when they were small I noticed that 1 was into everything and very demanding. The other was slow and would get "run over" by his brother. When they started to school, kindergarden was very disapointing to me and the boys, because their teacher was still teaching the lessons the way she taught them 25 years ago and it was not working! She even went as far as saying that they didn't know anything because I hadn't sent them to daycare.(another story in itself!) Anyway, after they finally got out of her usless class, the other teachers were younger and taught "hands on" lessons that my boys caught on to, but still was struggling. So I had them tested and yes, they were both LD. Now they are freshmen in High School, and the one that was slow as a baby makes straight A's. The other one works so hard and does a fantastic job at homework but he has a hard time when it is test time. It kills me to see him struggle as hard as he works! I think that every teacher should be required to go back to school at least once every 2 years to learn new teaching methods! I have noticed that the ones that are there for years,(not all) don't seem to care if a child "gets" it or not. All they are doing is putting in their time, until they can retire.
