IT REALLY URKS ME WHEN MY HUSBAND THINK THE ONLY THING I DO IS SIT AROUND ALL DAY! ARGH!

ME VENTING....

LET ME TELL YOU MY DAY BEGINS AT 5:30 AM WHEN MY HUSBAND LEAVES FOR WORK.  I GET UP TAKE A SHOWER BEFORE MY TWO KIDS WAKE UP.  MY 3 YEAR OLD GETS UP AT 6:30 AM AND WANTS TO EAT BREAKFAST RIGHT AWAY SO, I FEED HIM AND THEN AT 7:00  MY OLDEST SON WAKES UP FOR SCHOOL AND HE HAS TO EAT AND TAKE A SHOWER.   WE ARE OUT THE DOOR BY NO LATER THAN 8:00 AND I TAKE MY SON TO SCHOOL.  COME BACK HOME STRAIGHTEN/CLEAN UP THE HOUSE AND DO LAUNDRY (IF NEEDED).  I RUN AROUND AND DO ERRANDS AND TAKE MY 3 YEAR OLD TO A CLASS AT THE PARK DISTRICT TWICE A WEEK FOR AN HOUR.  THEN IT'S NAP TIME FOR MY 3 YEAR OLD AND WHEN HE'S DONE NAPPING IT'S TIME TO PICK UP MY OLDEST FROM SCHOOL.  THEN HOME TO HELP WITH HOMEWORK AND GET DINNER STARTED.  THEN I HAVE TO RUN MY OLDEST SON EITHER TO A PRACTICE OR A GAME.  BY THIS TIME MY HUSBAND IS ON HIS WAY HOME FROM WORK.  WE EAT DINNER AND I CLEAN UP AFTER ALL OF THEM AND DO SOME REMAINING LAUNDRY.  I GET CLOTHES AND LUNCHES PACKED FOR THE NEXT DAY.  I FINALLY GET A CHANCE TO SIT DOWN FOR 5 MINUTES AND SOMEONE NEEDS OR WANTS SOMETHING!!  OF COURSE!  SO, I TAKE CARE OF THAT HOPING AND WAITING FOR BEDTIME FOR MY LITTLE GUY IS AROUND 8:00-9:00 AND MY OLDEST GOES TO BED AROUND 9:30-10:00.  FINALLY, AROUND 10 AM I GET A LITTLE TIME TO RELAX AND TRY TO CATCH THE NEWS OR A LITTLE TV....WHILE MY HUSBAND LAYS IN THE BEDROOM FLIPPING THROUGH CHANNELS READY TO FALL ASLEEP.....HE DOES NOTHING ON THE WEEKENDS EXCEPT SLEEP AND WATCH TV AND I'M THE ONE WHO DOES NOTHING ALL DAY????

THANKS FOR LETTING ME VENT.

Feb. 1, 2008 at 12:39 PM I hate that they think that we do nothing but sit around and eat and watch tv all day. We just got into it the other day about that. And my husband sits all weekend too.

Welcome to motherhood. I think this has been an ongoing battle for centuries.  I know how hard it is and I work FT outside of the home. So I have all that plus the demands of "the man".  My suggests is an earlier bed for the oldest son so you can rest and breath a little sooner. Also you can simple state to DH I would appreciate it if you wouldn't say I sit around and do nothing all do. Do it in your nice, nonnagging voice. Sometimes they don't realize how hard we work until they have to do it.
