We have wood laminate floors that are being installed as I speak.  One of the kids at my daycare dropped a plastic toy train on them today and there is the littlest scratch.  You almost have to bend down to see it, but it just made me want to puke.  We are completely draining our savings to have our floors redone.  I can't wait until they are all installed so I can go crazy with rugs to protect them.  I knew they wouldn't be perfect forever, but why or why did this happen to happen so soon before I got the rugs down.  Please Lord give me the patience to remember that he's just a kid and not a ruthless little animal that is out to ruin my floors, ha!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 12:23 PM I know how you feel.  Except, I was the one that put the first ding in our laminate floors.  I dropped  a lamp on the floor.  Not only did I break the lamp but it chipped the floor. Not just a scratch, but a chip.  Had to go and buy a repair kit to fix it.  This happened while I was putting the trim back right after we got the floor done!!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 7:38 PM Bummer :( But so happy it's the tiniest of scratch and not a large effect like the one stated above!! Guess you're going to have to have the kids play with pillows- LOL and marshmellows.
