When I first found out I was pregnant I had no idea how uncomfortable I was going to be.  I had heard horror stories, but in the end nothing quite prepares you for what it is really going to be like.

I was some what fortunate enough to not have had any major first trimester complaints.  Other than some fatigue, I felt so good that I had no idea I was even pregnant.  Since I had serious endo, and was told kids were not in the cards for me, I thought missing my period was just another part of having broken female plumbing ( and add to that TWO negative pregnancy tests) .  When I found out I was in shock!  How could I not know I was   pregnant?  Was pregnancy really this easy?  I thought I was in the clear...boy was I wrong.

Shortly after entering my second trimester all hell broke loose in my body.  Vomiting, nausea, fatigue...all the first trimester symptoms hit me at once.  The worst part of all was the horrible heartburn I was suffering from.  It was like no other heartburn I had ever had before.  Nothing I did got rid of it, and sleeping was impossible as food and acid refluxed into my esophagus.  I had to sleep upright which caused  me to have horrible neck and back pains in the morning...life was terrible.

I was happy when it seemed as though the heartburn was going away towards the end of the second trimester.  Tums were doing the trick most of the time and when it didnt do the trick I was still able to manage.  For 2 and 1/2 weeks I felt pretty decent.  Then it came back...WITH A VENGANCE!  This time it was so bad that nothing I ate, no matter how bland it was, caused heartburn.

I will say that pregnancy with all its blessing has brought upon me a case of chronic heartburn one can only imagine in their nightmares.  The kind of heartburn that makes you scared to eat anything and does not let you take advantage of those cute little pregnancy cravings.  Hopefully it will all be over soon, and this will all be a bad dream!
