This little guy is pretty cute! That is a good thing! We have had a new foster baby (5 months) for about 2 weeks now. Bless his heart! His schedule is so off! We are trying very hard to get some sort of structure into his life. We have finally go past satisfying the basic hunger need, and are working on getting that safety and security met! I realized how easy I had it with Ricky- he really was an angel baby! Maybe tonight will go a little better! He seems to be more healthy and is starting to really interact well.

I would love to foster!  Haven't had the time to look into it.

Is it really rewarding?!  I think it would be.

It is terrific! We have so much fun! It is quite a bit of work to get licensed- but I think that is good thing. We originally did our training through the Baptist Children's Home and our church. We started out by doing respite care on weekends. That is especially fun because your home is like a mini vacation for a child who is in foster care. It was a great way to get started. It is very rewarding and at times quite challenging- but totally worth it! Where do you live? There seems to always be a major need for good foster homes- no matter where you live. BTW, we are getting close to our adoption date for our 2 oldest kiddos- they joined our family through the foster system almost 2 years ago!

Feb. 10, 2008 at 5:38 PM My husband and I are considering Fostering, but we want to eventually adopt.  We looked into private adoptions and they are so expensive, we thought this route may be better for us.  We are considering Respite care also.  We are hoping for 3yrs and under, we are nervous about it , but also excited!!!  Any advice would be appreciated.   Stacie
