terrible toilet troubles

I'm putting a call out there to all the ladies out there who knows how to fix a leaky toilet!

I worked for hours today to fix my leaky upstairs toilet that has been leaking forever DH will not fix the problem, so instead of bitching at him, I decided to fix the problem myself.

I took the toilet off and put on a new wax ring, I put the toilet back on the new wax ring after taking off the old one, I tightened all the bolts and Overtightened the water hose thinging and broke it. so I had to buy a new one it took me 3 stores to find the right size and after all that the stupid toilet is still leaking!

What did I do wrong! Help! I'm tired of this leaky toilet!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 4:10 PM Is it leaking at the bottom, or from the tank?    Good on you for tackling this job!  If nobody here can help, go back to Home Depot (or wherever) and ask the guy who works in the plumbing department.  If you have a phone that takes pictures, take a snap so you can point out WHERE that water's coming from.  It's possible that in wrangling the bowl you dislodged or damaged the wax ring (just what you wanted to hear, I know)

It is leaking at the bottom where it was before LOL It does sound like the wax ring again.
