my son has a runny nose and now it is getting red and raw.

his nose has some stuff that needs to get off and is semi dry.

how do you wipe your child's nose when it is getting raw from wiping?

should i get a wet wash cloth?

sounds like a simple question if you ask me and one that i kinda didnt want to ask,lol

Feb. 1, 2008 at 4:15 PM try a warm wet washcloth, then put some vaseline on his nose. No lotion though, that would hurt.

Feb. 1, 2008 at 4:15 PM Put some vaseline on his nose. It will help with the raw. I used to use a dry washrag. It seemed to be easier on the nose.

Feb. 1, 2008 at 4:36 PM You can put diaper rash lotion on after you clean the nose. Since it is a skin barrier it keeps it from  getting so sore from being wet and it makes cleaning it easy. Plus most diaper rash ointment is just zinc oxide so it isn't toxic if he licks a bit (trust me after my oldest ate half a tube of the stuff and I called poison control they told me he'd have to eat half a barrel of the stuff before it started hurting him at all). I have 4 kids and i"ve done it on all of them and it's worked wonders. : )

Feb. 1, 2008 at 9:11 PM I would do vaseline or diaper rash cream also. Paisley and Luke have both done this and if you have A&D or whatever it will help. I hate that feeling of having a raw nose but you still have to wipe it! Poor Tucker! By some tissue with the lotion in it, I love that stuff. I hope his little nose gets better!
