I'm posting this anonymously because I do not want people knowing who I am.

I seen a girl in a formula feeding group saying she's selling the formula she's getting for free and selling it and instead putting her 4 month old on regular milk since she needs the money. I know where the girl lives, and I know for a fact she gets WIC. I've never been a judgemental parent but I think this is SO wrong because babies need these nutrients, and not to mention it's MORALLY wrong. I'm not perfect, and I'm open to all aspects/styles of parenting but I cannot stand to see her little boy to go w/o the nutrients he needs. Should I report her to her area WIC office since this clearly states when you sign up for WIC it is VERY illegal?

Feb. 1, 2008 at 5:29 PM Yes, report her. Not only is that fraud, it is bad for a baby that age to be drinking cow's milk. If anything happened to the baby would you feel guilty? I know I would & that's why I'd report her. You can report anonymously. SHAME ON HER!!!!!!!!!!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 5:29 PM I would... I'm on WIC and we lucked out big time... I never realized how expensive formula was!!! We'd get 9 cans at a time and there toward the end, when my son was switched to regular milk, I just gave it away to someone else who needed it... I think 7 cans or so but to sell it AND deprive your child of the nutrition he/she needs, is dispicable!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 5:30 PM I agree that the baby needs the nutrition.  It is not right for her to take the baby off of it b/c she needs the money.  She should ask her family for money if she needs it so bad.  Her baby comes first.  I don't think you should report her.  She just needs counceled before she does harm to her child.

I'm with everyone else...REPORT HER!!  She is going to harm her baby!  That, and we as tax payers are giving her this formula so she can sell it!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 5:32 PM Girl , my best friend works in a grocery store and everyday she sees people buy expensive meats on their food stamp card then sell it to someone IN the store for half price to buy ciggs!  It happens all the time! the welfare system is a JOKE!  True some need it but many just abuse it!  I work at a food pantry and we give out free food, they are out on the LOT trying to sell it for cash five minutes after we give it to them.  They all have cell phones, drive nice cars, (all are at least 50 pounds over weight!!!) and, many women have sculptured nails! Yet they are all on food stamps and at the pantry for free food at the end of the month because they sold off the food!  it's everywhere and the government doesn't care, because it's just TAX money, not theirs!  Add all the illegals to that tax payer bill and its $6000 BILLION dollars a year, yep that's $600 Billion!!!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 5:32 PM  I would definitely report her, but I'm more worried about the 4 month old baby not getting nutrients.  Even if you do report her and she's not given vouchers, the outcome of the little baby's health is the same. I would probably call CPS and have them come have a little chat with her over proper infant care.  It's ridiculous and negligent to give an infant that young milk and selling the formula.  If she needs money that bad she should find a job or a better one, or if that's not an option look to the state for help.
