I'm surprised and alarmed at the amount of non-believers, too.  If you want an even clearer idea, join one of the debate groups.  My experience there was that anyone who posted in favor of religion was verbally attacked and mocked.  I believe each person has the right to his or her own belief system (and there will be a heavy price paid for some of those systems come judgement day), but it's not necessary to try to annihilate someone whose viewpoint is different.

 What video did you watch?

Feb. 1, 2008 at 10:44 PM What video are you talking about? I'm a believer too and it amazes me when I hear people say they don't believe in God. It's all about having faith! It is a sad world that we live in!

I don't believe in the mysticism of Christianity. I believe that the people in the Bible may have existed, but that they may not have had the exact same lives that you read about. The same goes for other religions - I don't really know what the backstory is, but parts of it may very well be true. I don't know, but good for you if you do.

Beyond that belief, I don't know what I really believe in. I don't think I believe in a single, true god reigning in a heaven, while a devil rules over a hell. I think that way because I think that it's selfish and unfair to demand worship to reserve your ticket to the bliss that supposedly awaits you in your afterlife, and if you don't you endure eternal pain and punishment? I do believe in a force that is more than me - how else would I exist? But that force may be simply called nature. I don't believe that when we're dead that we are completely finished existing...I feel like there should be an afterlife, but I don't know if it's just your spirit going around the world, or if it's reincarnation, or anything else. I believe in humanity, and that people are generally good. I believe in a lot of things...but I don't like to claim a religion because I feel claustrophobic. I like to do what I want to, when I want to. I make my own rules.

Feb. 1, 2008 at 11:00 PM I don't understand either. God has proven His exsistence to me too many times to question it. And it really confuses me when I hear those who say they believe in a higher spirit or spirits but they don't believe in God. I just don't get it. If you find the answer, please let me know!!

Feb. 1, 2008 at 11:07 PM I think the people who don't have a clear belief weren't really provided with a solid foundation to build upon and now they're just kind of roaming around.

AimeeBloom: How I can believe in a higher power and not your God is simply that I am confused by all of the religions in existence. Which one is right? All? One? None? They all have things in common...but I don't know which one is right.

DivaDynamite: Fair assessment for some, not for others. I have no foundation...my husband does. We're both non-Christians now.

Feb. 2, 2008 at 11:24 AM MaMomToTwo: My husband likes to read alot, and he has 2 books that were written by people just like you. You may be interested in reading it or checking it out. One is by  a guy named Josh McDowell, he was an Atheist, he wrote his first book trying to disprove God and his 2nd book after doing  tons of research, came to the conclusion that there is a God! Maybe this book will give you the answers you are seeking. The name of the book is called Evidence That Demands A Verdict. He researched about every different religion in the world and came up with a solid conclusion to help people that are confused! Good luck with your search for the right answers!

Feb. 3, 2008 at 10:25 AM i believe in him, may not always understand him. right now, for the past 7 years, lets say I have had a beef with him and will not go to church, i will not pray, i am very angry with him. but i do not let my own personal beliefs or anger effect other people's faith and beliefs. I do still send my son to sunday school though, i think it's important for children to have a good foundation of faith.
