So I took Ryan out and we went shopping for party supplies together.  I didn't realize party supplies could be so expensive either.  We special ordered his birthday cake from the local bakery, and five of his classmates rsvp-ed.  We are going to have a pinata, play party games, and have pizza, cake and ice-cream.  Ryan wants to spray his hair with crazy pink hairspray, and wear this goofy smily face pirate hat.  He is ready to party.

So after we went to the party supply store.  I drug poor Ryan through Pier 1 Imports (my favorite store, btw) and finally bought myself a papasan chair, which I have been dying to buy for the longest time.  Whenever I sit in this chair I feel special.  Its so nice and comfy too.

The pinata was rocket-shaped, I didn't know there were so many varieties of pinatas.  I saw a treasure chest shaped one, if the birthday theme was going to be pirates of the carribean.  Of course Ryan is now ten and far too grown for kiddie party themes.  All in all, the party went very well.  It didn't take the kids very long to break the pinata open.  They each had one shot each.  I must say 10 year old boys are really kooky.  They had fun, two hours didn't seem like enough time.  I'm hoping to get the boys together again, soon.  Maybe next weekend I'll take them paintballing.  They seemed very excited about the idea.  If not paintballing, maybe out to a movie, instead.
