For some reason i find it hard to feed jake veggies.  Everything i have tried he just spits it out.  He enjoys all kinds of fruits.  He even like Prunes,  ehg!  I dont know how to get him to eat veggies.  I have tried all kinds of veggies and he doesnt like anything.  What am i doing wrong?  I seriously need some advice.  I  try to feed him a fruit or veggie for lunch and then at bed time he eats cereal with pear juice.  Am I doing something wrong??  My son is only 4 months old.

Feb. 2, 2008 at 12:45 AM My two oldest ate everything!  My youngest refused cereal and any veggies.  He ate only fruits until he started mashed potatoes, smashed mac and cheese, cheerios, etc.  Don't feel bad.

Feb. 2, 2008 at 12:46 AM It sounds like you are doing just fine. Babies don't like a lot of variety. I'd stick to the fruits and cereal for a while, and then when you introduce veggies, start with carrots and corn. I also found that if I mixed veggies with applesauce they'd take it better. One of my kids would only eat red food. So I started putting catsup on everything, and I mean everything, lol! Just relax, he's growing and he's healthy. :)

I think you are doing fine. Don't give up on trying it.

My older son only eats fruit, while my younger son only eats veggies. He doesn't even know how to eat apple( crunch it , kid) hahaha

Feb. 2, 2008 at 1:00 AM Do you try to feed him any soup?  I start with putting some veggies in the blender with the soup or broth (maybe a little potatoes or carrot pulverized).  I think corn might be hard for him to digest.  You will probably have to hid veggies.  Maybe cut what you are eating into very small pieces and give him some kind of dip on it and see if he will at least taste it when he can see you eating it.

Feb. 2, 2008 at 10:02 AM He will be fine most babies don't even start baby food till way later so don't worry about him getting his veggies in just yet. Also if you are worried about him  not getting enough nutrients they do have infant vitamins but I would talk with your doctor about them first, we gace them to our son. I cant believe that you son is eating baby food already, my son wouldnt touch the stuff till he was at least 6 monthsand that only lasted a month and he moved on to big boy foods. It will get better though, my son has gone through stages, one day he loves veggies and the next he hates them, Just keep trying them everyday and switch them out, eventually he will start eating some.

Feb. 3, 2008 at 2:11 PM My niece hated all baby food. My brother and sister-in-law just put their food through the baby food mill. That was the only way they got Sabrina to eat. But you may find that w/o notice he'll start to hate pears and devour the veggies. Babies will go through phases of food likes and dislkes. It's just natural.
