Hello,

I want to thank all of you for the support you've given me during this really tough time in my life. I can definitelty say that I have never felt that type of pain before. It was very sudden. My father had a stroke and then became brain dead. He was never "sick" but he never went to the Doctor to get checked up either. Because he was brain dead and his heart was still beating, we have to make the choice of taking him off of life support. I wasn't there in person, but just knowing that your father will die the next day scared the so much. I already knew that I was not ever going to see him again. That tore me up. My father and I were very close. I was his babygirl and I made him proud. Because I've been left in charge of taking care of his funeal arrangements, I had to be the strongest person so the family. It is not easy but, I had to do it. i just wanted everyone here on CafeMom to know that I am so happy that I have people that would give me support. My S/O has not lost anyone close to him, so he's trying his best to be there for me....

Feb. 13, 2008 at 8:53 PM I am sorry to hear about your father.  I too lost my father suddenly last year.  It was hit by a truck  and died instantly.  I think it really harder on you when it is so unexpected.  My father was on of the healthest men I knew and he was 86 years old, and I use to say all the time my father gets around better that I do.  I had lost my mother a long time ago, so my father was my only parent and it was very hard.  God be with you in the times when it get hard, I still have those moments sometimes, but I know that God is with me.   Take care.

Feb. 24, 2008 at 12:28 AM I can relate I just lost my father in Sept, 2007. He was never sick he went to work and came home and just died. They said he had high blood pressure which lead to a massive heart attack. It was crazy because we were really close and I am preggo with my first child which he will never get to see. I was 3 months and half at the time. I made like all the major decisions for the funeral and I dont think I have really dealt with it yet for the sake of my baby. I just wanna let you know your not along and hold your head up
