Short: Jayden Xander Walker entered the world  via  emergency c-section at 11:58 pm on January 29, 2008. He was 8lbs 13oz and  21 inches long.

Long version: I went to my 41 week  dr's appointment on  Monday and  had still not  made any more progress than I had the week before. We had also scheduled an u/s for that morning just to make sure that the baby was not in any  distress.  The Dr basically gave me  3 options: induce on monday, induce on sunday or see if he came on his own in between those 2 days. So I went home  and  talked it over with my husband  and  we opted to induce on monday since the  only thing to be gained at this point would have been extra weight and the u/s tech estimated him to be 8lbs 15 ozs anyway! So I  started to get all the last minute things thrown together and ready to go so that I  could be at the hospital by 3:30. So  I showed up at the hospital and they inserted the cervadil at 4:30pm. By 9pm i was contracting about every  7  minutes or so but they weren't all that strong. So I went to sleep around 12 since they were going to pull the cervadil at 4 am. Once they pulled the cervadil I started to contract every 2-3 minutes but I still hadn't dialated past 2 cm. So they let me shower and eat and they hooked me up to pitocen (ugh!!) around 6am. Once I was hooked up to the pitocen contractions started to move really close together  By 11:30 I was moving in circles trying to move through the strength of the contractions. I had the nurses check and I was at a 3.5cm. So I had  the Dr break my water.RIGHT after she broke my water the contrax reaaly started to get painful  I  progressed from3.5-5cm very quickly and once I hit 5 cm I went to 9cm within 40 minutes!  Unfortunately that is also where I stopped! The nurse had me try a couple of practice pushes and then had me stop when when she realized that the baby was not progresing at al. we waited. So an hour later they checked again... still no progress. At this point we started to have problems. All the signals I was getting were prepping me to push however  no matter what we did we couldn't get my my cervix to hit 10! At this point the Dr's tell me to push anyway just to see if we could work with it anyway. No  such luck... baby keeps getting stuck and my cervix starts to swell. unfortunatly this  also creates a bigger problem...Now I can't STOP pushing. No matter  what I tried ...not pushing created problems...pushing created more problems and I had 4 nurses my mother and my DH all running around trying to figure out what to do next. So the anestheiologist was called and I  was given an epidural to buy us all some more time. The epi took 95% percent of the pain away and stopped the uncontrollable urge to push. So it was  decided that I would stay on the epi for a while so that I could labor longer.  the pitocin was turned off and we tried to get things together . We completely restarted the process at 7pm and by 11pm we were RIGHT back where we started.  So  the anestheiologist was called and she upped the dose just enough to keep me from pushing until Dr could get there and a decision was made. The dr  got there about 30 minutes later and it was  agreed that  this child was not going to come any other way and I was prepped for a c section.

Jayden was born at 11:58pm via c-section at 8lbs 13 oz 21 inches long with an apgar of 9/9. Both Mom and baby are doing well..
