HMMM well at almost 10 months, my little guy has been really healthy. He's only had to see a doctor for his regularly scheduled well-baby visits and hasn't really had any trouble which is good since I didn't want to be one of those Moms who rushed their children to the doctor for the slightest cough.

Justice became really congested and kinda wheezy this past Sunday but I chalked it up to him finally getting a cold. A week before was one of the first times he had really been around other kids at the library storytime and one of them had a slight runny nose. Well, it's gotten worse so I called the advise nurse at his pediatrician's office would said just elevate his bed (hello!!! he's in a crib & uses every square inch to sleep), make sure he gets plenty of fluid and if he gets worse, call back.

I spoke to his actual pediatrician day before yesterday who said it sounded like RSV and that I was doing everything I could but if he started having trouble breathing or wheezing really bad then she wanted to see him. Wouldn't ya know it, at almost 5pm on the dot on a Friday evening my son started gasping for breath...wheezing really bad and then coughing which scared the hell out of him when he couldn't catch his breath. He was even taking his binky out to breathe which is almost a sight in itself since he practically keeps it in 24/7.

Anyway, I paged his doctor who advised that she had already left the office for the weekend but she wanted him seen so she called the Urgent Care office she works with to tell them we were on our way. Two hours later and my son is acting all fine and dandy (Murphy's law or so I'm told), we are told he has upper respiratory infection and sent home with a rx for albuterol.

Fast forward to a restless night, multiple times waking up choking on phelm to this morning. He is really, really snotty, coughing but at least has an appetite. He seems to be doing fairly well with the situation till it was time to settle down to get ready for morning nap. Then he started wheezing uncontrollably and freaking out so I put us in a nice, hot steamy shower to see if that would help and Daddy ran to the pharmacy to get the albuterol rx filled since they were closed last night.

Hope things look up soon. I feel so helpless when he is like this!

Oh poor little man... I hope he feels better soon!  Kenzie had a lung infection when she was little that triggered asthma, so I know how much it sucks.  We lived with her humidifier on and had to prop one side of her mattress up (Put yellow pages under the matress on one side).

Again, I hope he feels better soon!  :)
