Today, we celebrated my graduation from grad school. I got my Master of Science degree. I started when my son was 3 months old and it took 2 years. When I had my daughter in 2000, I gave myself 5 years (mentally) until I would get my MS. At that 5 year mark, my son was born, so I debated whether to give myself another 5 or just do it. Some ladies that I worked with said it couldn't be done. They had every excuse under the sun for not having kids or getting their Master's -- certainly not both. Maybe I'm just a smartass (well, no maybe -- I AM) but I felt like doing the impossible. So, I did. I graduated with a 4.0. Mind you, I've been working full time and have been the primary support of my family this entire time, since before my daughter was born. We had a nice lunch at a restaurant with 12 friends and family, and I got a few gifts. Mostly, it's a relief to be done with my education, for now. Just thought I'd share with you all.
