I have these veins on my legs that drive me crazy.  They aren't your normal spider veins they are almost like bumps but they are under my skin.  Does anybody else suffer with them?? And if so how can I make them go down.  The make me real self conscious.  I don't like for my husband to look at them even though he said that it doesn't bother him.  I just wish there was something I could do.

Feb. 2, 2008 at 10:25 PM They are varicose veins.  The valves in your veins are shot so the blood pools instead of being pumped back up to the heart.  See your doctor about them, especially if the area is red and/or hot it could be infected.  If they are really bad the doctor might send you to get fitted for compression stockings.  I have them, not the most fashionable things but they do the job.  Also try to elevate your legs where they are above your heart for an hour or so every day.  I do this laying down on the couch with a bunch of pillows under my calves.  Sadly there isn't a whole lot that can be done about them.

Feb. 2, 2008 at 10:33 PM I used to work in a medical supply store and i took some courses about veins there.... You should really go see a doctor about that! Spiderweins are first signs of veinproblems...but if you are already having bumps its more serious...it can be genetic or causes by wrong diet and not enough excercise. They can pull the veins but that would only work temporarly. they will come back. ..unless you really take care of it. What you will need 2 do is wear these special socks or stockings...they are almost like the once for thrombosis 9dont know if spelled right..i'm german lol ) Wearin them will stop it from gettin worse. I am 27 now and i started wearing them when i was 24. I dont anymore cuz its way 2 hot here for those lol but i should be wearing them every day. I cant tell u excactly what they are caled here in the states but..i recommend that u go see your doctor and have him refer you 2 a specialist so they can check if its just the outside veins or if it has effected the deep veins as well. i wish you good luck and have a great day!
