In My Head with the Voices

The howler monkeys are here, too.

I'm a clean freak. Before I had kids my house didn't even have a "lived in" look. Everything was spotless. My cupboards were organized in a way that made Sleeping With the Enemy look like nothing weird.

I even iron. Yes. I have one of those really heavy duty ironing boards and an expensive iron. I put on some music and get a glass of wine and go to town. I love it. I don't know why.

Since we've had kids my husband and I still run a freakin' tight ship. Everything has a place. Everything gets scrubbed. Two years ago I asked for a Swiffer for Christmas, and when I got it I was elated! My Dyson vacuum I bought last year nearly brought me to orgasm. You get the picture.

So, now that we have dogs and puppies in the house.... Ugh. It smells like a pet store. Or at least it did.

Today we went on this cleaning rampage. No piece of furniture was left unturned. Sofa cushions were stripped and washed. Vents were cleaned. Floors were scrubbed. Closets were cleaned. Carpets were vacuumed and shampooed. My house no longer smells like a zoo. I had to dump my vacuum canister twice! Gross.

Oh, by the way, my husband did most of his work topless. *Purrrrrrr*

I know. I'm a freak, but I had to write about something other than puppies.

Feb. 3, 2008 at 9:01 AM LOL!  You don't even want to know how this place looks! It's not dirt (mostly) but there's tons of clutter.  Today I may get int the back bathroom and deal with making a place to keep all my skincare ingredients so they aren't just everywhere in there.

Feb. 3, 2008 at 9:47 PM I've never had much luck drinking and ironing.  But then again, I'm a lightweight.  Seriously, I so badly want to be like you...if it wasn't for this damn cafemom thing I'd get so much more done (so friggin addictive).  I belong to the cleaning group on cafemom and I just cruise it sometimes fantasizing about how great it would be if I could make myself do all that stuff.  I'm not "dirty," but I aspire to be so much more.  Hey, didn't you say in another post that your mom was giving you a hard time about your house being dirty?  Is she more retentive than you?  Good luck with the pups.  I hope you have homes waiting for them.
