First I will say that Payton James (due in May 08) is fine.  I am so stupid and could have really hated myself forever!!!  I will never wear flip flops or climb over baby gates while pregnant!  Last night I was in my laundry room getting the bleach out for my husband.  As I was leaving the laundry room, I had to climb over the baby gate and my flip flop got caught up on the top of the gate.  Well, guess what happened....  I went over to the other side onto the floor.  For a split second... I totally forgot I was even prego I just saw the tile floor coming towards my face.  Right when I hit the ground I remembered that I was prego and just started to cry from the pain of falling and possibly hurting my little boy inside me.  My hubby was outside and heard my thud on the floor and came in and asked if I broke the tile?  I proceeded to cry and flick him off nicely.  He's always trying to make me laugh.

At the time I knew I hit my elbow really hard but I didn't remember if I hit my stomach or not.  I called my Dr. and they said to go to the ER.  I was so scared.  Usually, my little one is a mover... A LOT.. but yesterday for some reason, he wasn't moving much at all (that I could feel).  So when I fell I couldn't tell if he was OK because I couldn't feel him.  I was so scared and just told myself that I couldn't live with myself if something had happened to him.

Before we left for the ER my 16 month old son climbed up on the couch to give me a big hug!  He's the best!  I think its amazing how they can sense that you need a hug.  My hubby took me to the ER and they hooked me up and we immediately heard the heart beat.  Then they did an ultrasound and again everything was perfect.  They watched me for a little while and then let me go home.  Now, everything still seems OK.

My reason for writing this is to tell all my friends who are pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant and everyone else on CafeMom that I don't know... to please never wear flip flops while prego or even climb over baby gates while prego!!!!  I know they are comfy...  but oh sooooo dangerous.  Now, I have to worry about my baby truly being OK, and my big toe and my elbow are bruised and my entire body hurts so bad!!

PLEASE NO FLIPS OR BABY GATES!!

Feb. 3, 2008 at 1:46 PM I can totally relate to what you were going through. This happened to me while I was pregnant. I fell flat on my head while wearing flip flops out in the lawn. Flip flops are not good. I am so glad to hear everything is okay with you and the baby. Go get some nice flat comfy shoes. Rest and put your feet up!!

Feb. 3, 2008 at 4:14 PM Jamie, I am so glad you and the baby are ok. I am sure when Leo said that you wanted to do more than flick him off...LOL. That sounds like something Brad would say to try and get me to calm down a little. I agree with the clumsy pregos, I wiped out in the shower I was 5.5 months along I had a bruise that was nasty and I was so sore. I understand exactly how you feel.
