Yesterday my folks came out to visit me(they live in MN).  On the way here they were in an accident.  My dad feel asleep at the wheel.  Mom called out his name when he started going towards the ditch.  He over corrected and ended up rolling their truck.  They are fine.  Their truck is not.  Keith picked them up and drove them back to MN.  Everything is okay.  We didn't go to church this morning.  I just didn't feel ready to get in a vehicle today.  A part of me feels guilty even though I know I'm not to blame.  Their visit was a last minute thing.  I asked them to come.  I am so thankful they are okay.  It could have turned out so differently.  I'm just still a little shook up.

Accidents are scary for all involved we think about what it would be like without them in our lives.  my sister had one at the end of the year last year....

Hopefully you will get in a car without thinking about it.  HUGS to you and your family.

Feb. 3, 2008 at 11:48 AM I'm glad your parents are okay!  How scary.  I know when something like that happens to me I need some time to destress from the shock.  Rest.

Feb. 3, 2008 at 12:47 PM I'm so glad to hear that they are okay!  Vehicles are replaceable, parents aren't.  I hope you find peace soon with yourself.  I think guilt is our natural response... when there is no one else to blame, we blame ourselves.  But, you already know.... it isn't your fault.

I just read this and am sorry they were in the accident.  But I am very happy they are all right.  I know what you mean about getting in an automobile after something like that happens.  I was that way after I wrecked my car...a LONG time was really scary.  Give yourself time and you will be fine.

Dont blame yourself.  It could have happened with them just running to the grocery never know.
