My son Blake is three and knows when he needs to go potty but wont stop playing to go in the bathroom how can I get him to understand that he can still have fun after he goes potty?

Feb. 3, 2008 at 1:31 PM I put my 2 1/2 yr old son's training potty in the living rm (where he plays most). He got used to being able to 'multi-task'. I also started a 'potty chart'. It's on the wall rt above the potty. He'll be playing happily with his cars or something else...stand up and say usually, 'I gotta pee-pee'....sits rt down, does his thing and's time for the sticker. He gets a sticker if he: goes potty w/o being asked, tells someone he has to go potty, goes pee pee and goes poop. I didn't start with the potty in the living rm, it was in the bathroom. But like your son, he'd ignore his body's cues and have accidents. He now has maybe a total of 1 accident on average per wk. Try that. It's really worked here.
