BETRAYEL BY FRIENDS!!!!!!!!

WELL LETS SEE I THOUGHT THAT I HAD SOME FRIENDS AT WORK BUT IT SEEMS I DON'T. I GUESS I AM NORMALLY A HAPPY PERSON IN THE MORNING WHEN I GET TO WORK, I TRY NOT TO TAKE ANY OF MY PROBLEMS FROM HOME TO WORK AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD TRAIT, I MEAN THATS WHAT SOME OF MY SO CALLED FRIENDS TOLD ME TO MY FACE. BUT BEHIND MY BACK IS DIFFERENT. TODAY WHEN I WENT TO THE LUNCH ROOM I OVERHEARD TWO WOMEN THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE MY FRIEND TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT I DID NOT RECOGNIZE THEIR VOICE. THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE SO SICK AND TIRED OF MY SWEETNESS IN THE MORNING THAT IT IS ANNOYING AND THAT NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY BE THAT HAPPY IN THE AM . OFCOURSE THEY USED OTHER WORDS BUT I WON'T STOOP TO THAT LEVEL OF REPEATING THEM. THEY SAID THAT MY NICENESS AND SWEETNESS IN THE MORNING IS LIKE CHOKING ON A PEPPERMINT STICK. I JUST STOOD THERE AND COULD NOT MOVE, AND THEN THE PERSON WHOSE VOICE I DID NOT RECOGNIZE SAID AND WHAT ABOUT THE WAY SHE DRESSES, QUOTE IT LOOKS LIKE SHE IS GOING OUT ON A FIRST DATE EVERYDAY. I GUESS MEANING I LOOK BAD. WHAT SHOULD I DO . IT HURTS TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE YOU THOUGHT WERE YOUR FRIENDS REALLY ARE NOT. EVEN NOW ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE KEEPS SENDING ME MESSAGES ON MYSPACE LIKE NOTHING IS WRONG BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT REALIZE THAT I OVERHEARD THEM. HEARTBROKEN - BETRAYED - AND CONFUSED!!!!!!!??????

Feb. 12, 2008 at 11:12 PM I would simply type to her, "I heard you in the lunch room today.  It hurt my feelings really bad and I am wondering what your true feelings are?  Are you my friend who was just acting cool in front of others, or are you not my friend just trying to keep peace in the office?  Because I am very hurt and angry and right now, I just don't know how to act like nothing happened"

I would confront them, but you don't want to cause more problems in the work place. So I would do it very quietly. You really don't want to come off as the bitch ya know.

I understand completely what your talking about. I have to be so careful about what I say and who hears it. I've been yelled at twice for things I wasn't involved in. I just give comments about work and stay in my cube.

Feb. 13, 2008 at 4:06 PM I don't blame you for your feelings being hurt, but it sounds to me like they may be a little jealous...not everyone is capable of being so nice in the mornings or dressing very well.  I agree with the other comments you got; I would let them know, in a very NICE way, that you overheard their conversation, that you didn't appreciate it, and then go on about your business.  If you make a big deal out of it, they'll feed off of that.  If your comment is short, sweet, and to the point, they'll probably think twice about talking about you again.  I'm sure they ARE your friends, even though you feel now that they aren't, and they'll be sorry after knowing you overheard.  Good luck.....

I don't think I will ever understand people! I've seen ladies who are happy everyday and I think its nice to see that. When I read the first date thing I would take it as them being jealous because you look your best everyday of work and they can't do that.  I do agree with fairydustlady. I think you should let them know that you heard, and that you can't be around ladies who are going to act like that.  They are adults and shouldn't act that way.

If you need a shoulder, more like a computer friend, I'm here for ya.
