There is a reason I hate to watch the news. Yesterday's tragedy at NIU in DeKalb IL is another example why. I just don't understand how anyone can take another person's life! I cried when I hit a squirrel! Life is so precious, yet there are those who really don't see it that way. It doesn't matter how bad someone is, there's no reason to kill them. Why is it so "accepted" in today's society for someone to be angry with another person and then retaliate? Or just angry and hurt and kill people.
I just pray for everyone envolved in the horrible things going on in the world today. There's just so much pain. I pray that they can see the good, anywhere in their life. God gave us life, He gave us so much to be grateful for. He gave everyone a gift of some kind. Why can't people use it for good? Are we savages? We are an educated nation, yet we can't even take care of our own people. There's so much death and distruction.
Honestly, this is why I live in my own little bubble. It's hard enough to deal with life itself, then tragedy hits and it just gets scary. I like being able to focus on the little things in my life rather than worry about what will happen when my kids go to school each day. I trust that God knows their hearts and if anything happens while they are away from me, He will care for them. Actually, that He will care for them always. I am just their mom, He is the one who can handle everything.
Ok, so I haven't been able to focus this morning. The news about NIU hit home. A friend from church lost their daughter to the shooting. It's just sensless to me. Unfortunately, I can't get this out of my head today. I'm hoping that my posting about it will help. I can't even imagine how they are handling this.
