As a general rule, I HATE MONDAYS!! Also as a general rule, I'm a homebody (major hermit). So I was SOO not looking forward to leaving my house to meet a rude, crotchety old man about a job this morning. But he was relentlessly insistent. So much so that I finally agreed to meet him 1/2 way between my house and his (a 1/2 hour or so drive apart).

Last night, I figured if I had to go outside, I might as well get as much of the painful, scary stuff done as possible, in one fell swoop. 'Cause I'm resourceful like that. ;-p

For those of you who don't know me, I work at home. Mostly in my jammies and with my frizzy hair tied up in a pony tail. No makeup, no shoes. I like it that way. Most of the time. But every now and then I realize I'm stuck in a rut. Especially when my husband or children say, "Mom, you look so pretty today!" And I realize, "Sheesh! All I did was take a shower, wash my hair and put on real clothes today!"

I haven't met a customer in person in quite sometime. I do most of my business over the phone and/or through email. I like it that way. Most of the time. It's SOO much easier to hide behind the veil of professionalism I've created! WOOHOO!

Anyhoo... so last night, knowing I had to meet a customer face-to-face, I made a list of "Other Stuff I Need To Do."

Today turned out pretty good! The customer wasn't as crotchety as he seemed via email. I saw several old friends and met a couple of new ones. I got all the bills caught up that don't accept payment online (they were sure happy to see me, FINALLY, haha!) and then I had a Happy Meal for lunch -- I even got a Spiderwick toy! (.... uh....HUH? Ok, srsly, I need to get out more, heh). After my Happy lunch, I was SOO happy that I decided to duck in to Super WallyWorld to pick up some stuff I usually forget on my mad grocery trips. I made an appt. with the eye doc (loooong overdue), got extra keys made so I can quit stressing over sharing the ONE key with 4 people, got a HAIRCUT and an EYEBROW WAX (so, SOO very long overdue!), and still made it home in time to watch my soaps... LOL!

I'm not going to whine about the crap that happened today. Overall, it was a good, productive day. I'm proud of myself for getting out of the house on my own for a change. And I'm seriously not going to kill my daughter right now. I swear. (If you're reading this right now, you'll testify for me in court, right?!)

Feb. 19, 2008 at 9:18 AM I love the feeling of accomplishment when I have a day like that! And you got it all done in time for your soaps! Go YOU! Since you're on such a roll, can you make some house hunting appointments, call to cancel that membership, and get my grocery shopping done? I'm not getting procrastilist done, so I'd be grateful if you'd do it for me...

Yay!  for you, Dana.  You do look so pretty, with your new haircut and your eyebrow wax.  Marcos does that too, if I put on a little makeup and a sparkly shirt he'll say, "you look pretty, mommy." and I look at Miguel, point at Marcos and say, "See Miguel?  That's how it's done.  It's called a com-pli-ment.  Sound it out.  Com-pli-ment."  LMAO.

Can I play with your Spiderwick toy?
