I have been learning about mindset and how my thoughts and feelings can affect how my day goes... how productive I am and how successful I am at home or with my business!

I am sure we can all relate to having "bad" days but how even if we are having a bad day... good things can happen!  Since January 1st 2008 I made a committment to myself to try and have the right mindset.   Make things happen for the good even if I am dealing with something less than ideal.....

So I first started my mindset on my kids:  Instead of getting frustrated with the house being messy and in a shambles, I thought of creative ways to have fun cleaning up with the kids's help. Instead of me complaining to them about who did this and who didn't do that..... We played music loud (of their choice) and everyone had a "job". Before we knew it the house was all tidy and we all jammed out ~!

My mindset really pre-determined how I well I did the job at hand.... When I was negative or less than optimistic about what I needed to do.... it took me far longer to accomplish that task than when I had the 'right" mindset...

My husband:  All of us wives know that  these dear men in our lives can be difficult at best.  Is the thought of them doing what WE want them to do without us whining, begging and whimpering just impossible? Well it really isn't.... I have FINALLY figured out after almost 17 years of marriage, that when I lay the foundation and mindset correctly, Rick will do almost anything WILLINGLY! Best of all, he thinks it was HIS idea!  Go figure...

I want him to think it is HIS idea because when he thinks it is his idea... he is so much more willing to do it! HA HA>.... What I did was change my mindset toward him.

When I sought him out to have an active role in a decision, he felt important.

When I genuinely thanked him for helping, he beamed and wanted to help even more.

When I paused and thought about my words before "REACTING" then it was more peaceful and we fought less.

I am certainly NOT saying I am perfect nor is he. However, we both are actively trying to keep our mindset right so that we ALL benefit from proactive thinking.

Let me tell you.... it is hard work sometimes. Our good ole' human nature wants to creep in and think the worst, be negative etc.  However, that doesn't get us anywhere...

I am encouraged to have the right mindset and teach my kids to have positive thoughts. Hopefully then we all can put into action steps toward positive living.

Feb. 19, 2008 at 1:18 AM This si exactly what we are working on in our bible study on the book by Joyce Meyer "battlefield of the mind" It teaches us to retrain our tarins of thought. Taht anything less then good thought are not what God would have us to think and that when we let the world and our surroundings control how we view things we are walking in non God like thought processes. The hardest thing has got to be the "waiting for the ohter shoe to fall". You know when everything is going so good you KNOW something bad is going to happen lol.
