Hello to all my friends!
I never knew cold weather could tire you out so much! I am exhausted.
Today, I woke up to prepare for the Face to Face at the Field Museum with some of my friends from Chicago Platinum & Moody Church Moms and Friends. My two year old didn't understand the schedule so so stayed up late the night before refusing to go to sleep, hence her sleeping in this morning. I dare not wake her and expect her to be happy about going out in the cold today. So I let her sleep for as long as possible. *sign* I got to my destination later than I had wanted but had a great time with Sheila and her family. I even got to see Lara! After lunch Angel and I got ready to leave....or so I thought. Upon entering the lobby she found/made some new friends. They were having a great time running around in circles in the lobby. Angel joined them, totally uninterested in putting on her coat. That took about twenty minutes. Finally they left. Angel found some school children sitting on the floor waiting for the rest of their group. Angel thought it would be nice to sit with them. Then upon hearing me patiently calling her name she decided that a good game of "can't catch me" was in order. And so she ran, even though I didn't chase her. She proceeded to try and hide behind the ATM machine and figured I didn't see her. Oh what fun shewas having! After finally getting her coat on I realize that I lost one of my earrings. It was sent to me from Malaysia. I really wanted to go back in the children's section and search for it. But upon entering back in the museum hall Angel decided to lay out in the floor...again. Oh well, I guess I would be going back to get that earring today.
We go outside and with Angel in the stroller. All is well....until we exit the first bus. As soon as we departed, the wind whipped at us with amazing speed and sharpness. Angel grabbed her face and her eyes beckoned to me to save her. All I could do was get to the other bus stop as quick as possible.
I fell asleep and missed my stop. Got off the bus and had to wait for another one. Fun! We finally got home. You think this is the end? It continues.
My youngest son is coming home from camp and I have to go back outside....up north to get him. The plan was to take the bus back home once one of my friends dropped me downtown so we would only have to take one bus home. I froze on the commute to get there.
After the children arrived, my friend actually took us all the way home. What a blessing! But man am I tired. *smile*
Saturday and Sunday was just as hectic, but I survived, It has however caused me to get behind in my journals. I missed doing Saturday Morning Comics. I'll try to post them tonight if I can. I am preparing for work tomorrow. But I'll try. Thanks for listening to me ...vent? No, it wasn't really venting just sorta updating you on what I've been up to.

i'm smiling as i'm reading about your daughter's adventures for the day. children are so free and unaware at that age. you just gotta love 'em!!! LOL
i hope you're able to find your earring. i understand about the sentimental value in something.
prayerfully, spring is just around the corner, and won't take too long to get here. have a blessed day!
Oh, how I hate cold weather! I think we have 5 months of winter here.
The wind is so tiring & cuts through. That's why they call it the "Hawk."
I have learned how to dress for Chicago. Lately I wear 2 tank tops, a long sleeve T-shirt, a regular T-shirt, then another long sleeve one. I may then wear a sweater or something that pulls over. Then there's my coat. I have been wearing 2 pairs of long underwear under my slacks/jeans. Long underwear isn't that warm, but it helps. Sometimes I wear 2 pairs of socks. I have been wearing 2 knit caps this year & sometimes 2 scarves along with the hood on my coat. Can you tell I like to walk, altho below 10 degrees, it's tooooo cold. I am old enough to have lived in the era when women wore dresses most of the time & just didn't circulate that much. But we all desperately need exercise, so I finally have learned to dress for Chicago. I hate the cold, but I gotta live here. By my calculations, there are 2 months of winter left. April is too chilly for me to call it spring, altho sometimes we have a beautiful April. The end of April is usually lovely. I never get used to this weather, but if you put me in California right now, I would have NO trouble adjusting & be as if I always lived there.
Enough ranting!
Cheers,
