Houses and Moving

Well, the move is less than a month away now. Am I nervous? Starting to get that way. This weekend we're going to look at a few houses with a realtor. They are more space than we have now (and more rent), but I figure since we're moving I might as well get what I want. Right?!

To top it all off, Im actually planning a garage sale also! Ive decided to have it the day after my birthday, on March 8th. Its a Saturday and hopefully people will stop by. Im going to advertise it and price things low so they sell quickly. I sure dont want to move it. And Id rather not cart it off to Goodwill.  Id rather make a little money off of it instead. Makes better sense to me. I know its more work, but if I dont have to pack it up, it'll be worth it.

Most of the houses we're looking at are in the Hutto and Round Rock areas. Hubby works in Georgetown and I work in RR, so we figured these were good areas for us.

Ive been talking to my girls about the move and have been taking them for drives to look at houses. I plan on taking them this weekend as well so they can look at the houses too. I want them to understand be aware of what's happening so they wont be scared. Although I know that first few nights in the new house may be rough.

Wish me lots of luck in finding a house that is perfect for us. Im excited about the thought of being organized and clean and starting fresh. Perhaps this move thing was a blessing in disguise.

Feb. 21, 2008 at 3:04 PM I think bringing them to places to see if it will help them not be scared and adjust better is an awesome idea. I wish I had been able to do that with my son but we moved to a different state and in with relatives so unfortunately, it was hard for him to adjust.
