My son is 18months old and loves to throw and kick balls around the house.  He can throw very hard, it actually hurts when he hits you some times, his aim isn't great lol.  But my question is my son is now catching balls pretty consistently.  I think he is extraordinary and his hand eye coordination is great for his age, but I also am a first time mom and I think everything my son does is extraordinary.  So I am asking other moms, is catching balls at 18 months normal or extraordinary?

They say it comes between 18 months and 3 years, so it seems like your son is pretty early in the game to be catching. Congrats. Sounds like you will have a little t-ball player soon.

Sounds kind of extraordinary to me, my little girl is 16 months and doesn't have that much hand eye coordination. She'll kick a ball every now and again, and carry it, but I don't think she could catch one yet. Thats awesome!
