Dryer Repairman

Have you ever had one of those weeks when nothing goes right? Well, for me, its been more like a month! the last of which was my dryer stopped working. Ugh, I though. One more thing.

DH works with a very mechanical guy and so I was hoping he could fix it. He came over one night after work and took a look at it. He at least determined it was the belt. Okay, no bigge right? Wrong. He couldnt figure out how to get the drum off to replace the belt.

So I get on SearsParts.com and order the new belt. $40! Yikes! In the meantime, Im having to run to the only laundromat in town.... that is always busy. I hate laundromats.

Anyway, I asked hubby if his friend was going to come put the belt on and he said no but that he would. Oh no! My hubby is not mecahnically inclined. He's creative and artsy, not mechanical. But okay. I tell him I got a quote from the repair man for $75 to put the belt on. If he couldnt do it, we'd have to bit the bullet and pay the money.

Well, when I got home last night the dryer was working! He fixed it! Yay! Im so happy! Who woulda thought. But its sooo nice to have a dryer than works again. You never appreciate them until they break.

Now Im off to finish playing catchup with all the dirty clothes from the past week.

Feb. 23, 2008 at 1:34 PM oh I agree you don't realize how great it is to have the washer and dryer right there till you have to go to the laudry mat.  I am very happy for you that it is working again.  Hopefully you are not to far behind
