Today’s blog post was written by Steve Reiher, VP of Marketing & Development for Operation Kids.
One of Operation Kids’ core competencies is matching companies who want to make a difference in the community with effective charities addressing issues important to those companies and its employees.
We recently helped one of our corporate sponsors - XanGo LLP - create a new partnership with a very worthy charity, Catholic Community Services of Utah (CCS) .
XanGo gave $50,000 to CCS to provide meals, food boxes, and rent and utility assistance to Utah’s working poor and homeless.
XanGo was looking to help as many people as possible and wanted to be sure they were funding the right causes and organizations.
One of the tenets of our organization is to evaluate organizations for accountability and ability to make a difference. Knowing this, XanGo came to us with their criteria to help them find a recipient for their donation. Together we worked to find the most effective and impactful charities possible.
Many families and individuals have a better chance to have a warmer, healthier winter as a result of XanGo’s generous donation.
It is times like these that warm my heart and make me glad we could help make a difference in some children’s and families’ lives.
