My Best Friend

I found out this morning that my best friend, Julie, of 15 years has breast cancer and she is 5 months pregnant. Her husband, Bill, called me this morning. The doctors are confident they caught it early. Julie is in surgery now having the lump removed. The doctors are going to give her this chemo that does not affect the placenta at all in about a month. After the baby is born she will put on radiation. I am just so stunned. I can't believe this is happening. Both Julie and Bill are being so positive and strong. Please keep Julie and Bill in your thoughts and prayers, it will be very much appreciated. Thanks for listening.

Feb. 28, 2008 at 1:54 PM & this is why I am doing the 3 Day. You never know who it may strike. I will keep her in my prayers & while I do the walk this October.

Jul. 4, 2008 at 2:07 PM Well my Julie is doing great. She had her baby at the end of May. Ryan James Burke is her son's name and he is healthy and happy. Julie's scans have come back clean so far but she still has a lot of treatment left to do. Through all this Julie has not lost her optomistic view. She is stronger than I ever new and I am amazed by her courage and outlook on life.
