*sigh* Ok, so his dad has cancer. He's beat it before, but it came back. We knew at Christmas that it had come back, but his idiot doctors didn't do anything about it. He had been going to St. Johns all this time and they said "it was only in one lung and it didn't look like it was going anywhere, so they were just going to let it sit and not do anything with it." Well he's been in a lot of pain lately, so Ron finally convinced him to go to Beaumont on Sunday. Yesterday Beaumont tells him that he's got Stage 4 cancer and there's nothing more that they can do.
Yeah. The cancer has spread throughout his lungs, bones, lymphnodes(?), etc... He also has a fractured rib. It was probably from coughing (the cancer made the bone brittle and when he coughed hard, it snapped). So the hospital is trying to get his pain under control, and then they're going to send him home with hospice. They have no idea how much time he has left. Everyone is devastated. They had no idea. I mean, how can you go from one extreme to the other in 2 months? It doesn't make sense. Someone dropped the ball here. Whether they didn't do the right tests, or they didn't read them correctly...someone messed up. That ain't right.
Comments:
Ohh honey im sorry...
My dad passed from Cancer last year and all that i can say is that beaumont was wonderful to us over his 5 month stay there and when he went to hospice (inside beaumont) they were especially kind. He is in good hands there
