I've been wondering about this for some time.
This question is for mothers who are RH-. In other words you have no rh factor.
Is there anyone here that has NOT received the RhoGam DURING pregnancy.
If so, can you please tell me your reason for NOT getting it at 28 weeks.
I'm just comparing notes so to speak. I am leaning towards not getting it this time around. This is my 4th pregnancy and I have read too much on it that makes me NOT want to get it DURING my pregnancy.
(this following is not meant rudely) - Now, this is not a post for everyone to gang up on me and to tell me what RhoGam is for and how I'm huring my child if I don't have yada, yada, yada, it's pretty much a catch 22 whether you have it or not anyway.
I already know risks from HAVING it and NOT having it DURING pregnancy, I also DON'T trust everything the doctors or the pharmaceuticals company's put out as literature for these vaccines and RhoGam is a type of vaccine like it or not. I also know there is a lot of scary tactics by the pharmaceutical companies to get you to take the shot. Also it being a blood product you really never know what you are getting or putting into your body WHILE pregnant ("micro-filtered" or not!)
I know this is serious and I know the minor risks of the micro-bleeds, the antigens mixing and antibodies attacking the baby's RBCs, Sensitization, and Hemolytic disease (also called erythroblastosis fetalis).
And if there is some sort of trauma then yes, I would get the shot during my pregnancy but not otherwise. I will also have it after the birth if the baby's rh factor is "+".
I just want to know if there are other mothers out there that have skipped the shot at 28 weeks and why they decided to do.
Also, if you could share what your babies blood type was after he/she was born that would be awesome too.
So ladies please be cordial in your responses and treat others as you would like to be treated. I reserve the right to delete any hateful or demeaning comments, that is not what this is about. We can all discuss this as adults and accept what others choose to do with their bodies.
Thank you so much ladies, I greatly appreciate you letting me ask and I thank you in advance for all the help and stories you will throw my way.
Faithfully in Christ,
PS ... if you all could vote this popular so I could get other mother's to share I'd greatly appreciate!
