So we have been looking for a new house lately. We started the whole process in November. We went to a mobile home company in November and picked out the first house. We fell in love with it. The guy told us that since our income was lower last year than it was this year, we would have to wait until we filed our taxes and then finish the paperwork. Mind you we were already pre-approved for this house. So we waited patiently until about February, the whole time getting more and more excited about the first house. So we did our taxes and took them in to the house company. We were still fine until they asked for the down payment. Apparently the guy doing our paperrwork decided to write in that we would have $5,000 down. Which would never be plausible for us to come up with. I have four kids and one on the way. Money is tight! However, we didn't know that he was asking for that much money. They told us that we didn't make enough income. Even though we had already budgeted the income amount. So we had to look at a smaller house. The first one was 2300 sq feet. The second was 1500 sq feet. So we thought we were good and ready to start packing. We even picked the colors for the second house and everything. So I go in to hand in the last bit of papers and already signed. This is when the guy tells me that he had also budgeted in to use our current home as a trade in for $5,000. Without telling me!!! So now they were expecting $10,000 total down!!!! I told him that was not an option to use that house and so we looked at an even smaller house. This one was about 1100 sq feet. I told him that was too small. Well we have self employment income. So the next idea was to go back to the tax company and have them add $4,000 onto our taxes that had no business being there. I told them this was stupid and they woulkd not do this, but they said try. So we did. We got laughed at. This is the point where they said we would have to go with the 1100 sq foot home. Did I mention I have five kids!!!!! So we left there and gave up that battle. We then went directly across the street to another company and they are trying to get us approved for a bigger and better house with a bigger loan amount and more added options to the house!!!!!!!! Get that?!!!! Well Everrybody prey for us that this one works out!!!!!!!!! I hate house buying!!!!!!!!!
