Ok I have 9 mo old twins and an 8 y/o son. I am going today to buy new carseats for my little ones. They are at the height limit of my carseats but they are only 19 and 20 lbs. I need you ladies because I'm not sure which carseat to buy next. The only real problem I have is making sure that my son can fit in between the twins in the backseat of my Explorer. Any suggestions you have please let me know. Money is not so much the issue but I want them as safe as possible and my older one still needs to be able to fit in the backseat so the carseats can't be HUGE. He is pretty thin for his age...luckily. Thank you for your help

Mar. 5, 2008 at 11:36 PM The twins should remain rear facing in a convertable seat until about 30 (ish) lbs (depending on the seat). If you already have a convertable seat, keep it until they hit 40 lbs...when you can get a harness seat.
Your 8 yo should be in a high back booster, unless he is over 100 lbs and over 4'9.

I'm not sure if you bought seats already - but for your twins - you could buy two Radian 65's. I would actually put them side by side... this way your 8 year old can sit outboard and get in easier (is he in a booster? does he pass the no-booster test????)

The Radian 65's are very thin - and rear facing, they are very thin. This seat also can be tethered to the floor rear facing! So go see a carseat tech - www.seatcheck.org  to get them installed. :)
