Having flown, driven cross country and taken the train cross country, all sound fine to me. Although I'd rather avoid flying if I can. I'm not to fond of heights and for some sadistic reason, airlines think everyone wants to know how high off the ground you are. I really like taking the train though and can't wait until this summer when we hope to introduce the kids to rail travel when we go north for a visit.

I'm with you on the flying, I have only flown once and that was enough, I am deathly afraid of heights, if I can't drive or ride a bus or train there, then I don't go. I love to ride the rails I have done it several times, it is the most relaxing ride, and having a dining car helps to, unlike a plane or bus. Oh and I love to look at the scenerie as we click clack along, some of the most beautiful by train where cars cannot go.

I just want to knock out the pilot when he comes on and tells us how far off the ground we are. La la la.....I know we are in the air dumby. I don't really want to know how long that first step will be. LOL
