This is a list of all the Midwifery locations in Florida that will do VBACs. Regulations and Conditions for VBAC may vary for each location. Call each location of interest for a personal consultation to see if you are an acceptable candidate. TIP: The more knowledgeable you are about pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the potential risk of VBACs and Cesarean sections, the better chance you have of being an acceptable candidate.

This is a brief check list concerning your previous birth experience(s) that may help you to gain a general idea of whether a VBAC is a good birthing option for you.

(1) You have had only one previous C-section. ________

(2) You’re incision was a low-transverse cut (bikini cut). ________

(3) You were stitched twice. Once at your uterus. And a second stitch for your outer skin. THESE TWO AREAS WERE NOT STITCHED TOGETHER. ________

(4) You experienced, preferably, no more that 12 hours of hard labor. ________

(5) The cause for your previous c-section was one of the “complications” listed below:

- Multiple Birth - Fetal positioning - Failure to progress - Large birth weight

- Fetal Distress - Any maternal heath condition that is not present in the current pregnancy.

- Any fetal health condition that is not present in the current pregnancy. _________

If you are unsure of any of these questions, call you previous Ob/Gen or midwife, and have them check your file.
