she lays awake wondering what happen to the years. all the hurtful things all the tears. a child that knows nothing learns only fear. a different broken soul bone year after year.
she is suddenly a woman with a future all her own. she finds time & time again another broken soul bone. as she searches for an answer she learns only hate. it would appear this to be her fate.
she is now a mother to a wonderful baby of her own. she looks deep into his eyes & swears no more broken soul bones. a history & a future that she can claim as her own. she knows it is her duty to provide a happy home.
the beast that lay beside her in only a home. too busy to be a father. he has too many broken soul bones. again living in fear & feeling only hate. she has worry for her baby & plans their escape.
together they face the world & find a small place of their own. God how she prays no more broken soul bones. the baby grows to a boy & is fast approaching a man. she gains strength every day holding his hand.
a cycle of abuse that she single handily put to rest. sometimes her grown son hugs her & she can still feel an infant in her chest. all the tireless days working. she knows she has done her best. her baby will never know the feeling of putting broken soul bones to rest.
against all odds they have almost made it. a happy ending must be their fate. they pray quietly together for others to find their escape. a new small place that is a happy home. no fear. no hate & no broken soul bones.
My first typed poem via the Cafe on the Net. This was for my son who will soon be grown. My how the time does fly it is really not cliche. It seems as though I had a baby only yesterday. I love you J. more than you will ever know. I wish I had a chance to once again watch you grow. Love Mom.

TEARS! That was beautiful! A great expression of a mothers love. I commend you on your strength for your son. :)
If this was your very 1st poem ever? I encourage you to right again. I think you have talent. The way you say it just flowed from your heart. Great spin off the post "Have you ever broke a bone? What and how?" A soul bone! Really I think that's pretty deep thinking on your part. Great job! Keep me posted on your next piece of work.
