Today has been fairly busy.  We did laundry and cleaned house most of the day, like we do every weekend.  We also cleaned up the yard, and put the trash out.  We planned out where the garden will be this year, and what we will plant.  We are going to plant leeks, radishes, zucchini, cucumbers, acorn squash, watermellon, spaghetti squash, corn, swiss chard and cantaloupe.  We’re gonna trade my mil and fil stuff from our garden for stuff from theirs.  They’re planting tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers and some other stuff.  Sounds good to me.
We’ve been going for walks this past week since it’s been warming up, and the kids have had a good time playing outside.  Usually we just walk for about a 1/2 hr, maybe 45 minutes.  But Wednesday we walked for a little over an hour and a 1/2!  We walked up Shirland to 8th St., down 8th to Grand, Grand to Bluff, Bluff to Roosevelt, Roosevelt to Hackett, and Hackett to Shirland, and back home.  Doesnt seem that far, but when you have 4 kids walking, and there are tons of puddles, and you’re trying to push a stroller thru the wet mud and puddles....let me tell you, it seems like you’re walking forever!
Anyway, got 4 loads of laundry done, the kids’ rooms done, the front room done, the hall swept, the bathroom picked up and swept, kitchen picked up and swept and mopped.  Got the dishwasher loaded and put thru, the rest of the dishes(pots and pans) done, the kids baths, Adrian’s and Austyn’s clothes put away, birds and dogs fed and watered, dinner made, kids fed.....am I forgetting anything???  Probably, but considering I’m fighting whatever the hell the kids had, it’s remarkable that that much got done.  So now I’m sitting here drinking my SECOND POT of Coffee, and typing this.  Go figure, by the time the kids are done with their baths/showers, I’ll have to wait another 1/2 hr or so to have hot water for my shower.  And speaking of the kids, Caleb is now 48 lbs 6 oz, and Gabe is 50 lbs 6 oz, James is 76lbs 2 oz and Caitlin is...I don’t know cause now the scale doesn’t want to work.  But I’m guessing right around 43-46 lbs cause she’s usually a little less than Caleb.

Mar. 16, 2008 at 9:06 PM Yeah the rental that we moved into back at the end of October is owned by my sisters mother-in-law, and her other son(when they lived here about 2yrs ago) used to have a garden every yr.  Tomatoes and stuff like that.  But with the prices of everything going up, we figured it would be a good idea to have something, even a small garden will help.
