My upcoming breast surgery *UPDATE*

Ok so I am getting ready to have a HUGE cyst removed from my right breast.  Back in Sept 07 I found a knot in my breast and my OB sent me to a breast specialist.  They said it was a Fibroadenomatoid Cyst.  I had a biopsy done in October and THANK GOD it is benign.  Throughout my pregnancy the thing continued to grow and grow.  It is more than twice the size of my left breast and EVERYTHING is SOOOO stretched its not funny!!  It is actually larger than a softball now.  They told me that after I delivered my son it would probably go away or atleast shrink.  Well I delivered my son saturday March 8 and ever since then it has gotten BIGGER and it hurts SOO bad!!  I went to my breast specialist last week and he sent me to a plastic surgeon the same day!!  Basically I have to have the cyst taken out immediately and then reconstruction surgery.  I could possibly have 20% breast tissue left or it could be a mastectomy (sp?) my DR wont know till he is actually in there to take it out.  The plastic surgeon does not want to do any type of reconstruction til I am atleast 3 mos postpartum and or have lost ALL the weight I want to lose so...pretty much I could be left w/o any breast at all on my right side.  I think I can cope with this til I can have reconstruction surgery but I am not 100% sure.  I will also have my left breast reconstructed and a lift done so that both match and they will look like I am 16 again...I guess thats the best thing to come of all of this!!

Update

Ok so I went back to the breast surgeon today and he now wants to wait til I lose all my weight and my body is back to NORMAL and do ALL surgeries at once.  They said it would be a better outcome and easier to preserve the natural breast tissue if the cyst is removed and reconstruction done immediately.  I am relieved I am not going in for surgery next week however I have to live with this cyst in my boob for a minimum of 3 more mos....the plastic surgeon referred to it as the size of my baby's head!!?? OMG...shes not far off!!??  But hey atleast I wont go without a boob on the right side and I will have those perky "lil" things I been wanting!! lol

Sorry, but yur last sentence is kinds funny!  No pun intended, right?  Good luck with your surgery!  I hope everything goes well!!  Let us know how you turn out!  After breast-feeding my 3 kids I am the size I was whe I was 16...and that's not very big! :)  LOL

The Husband says after I have all my babies I get to have a "perky breast job" as well!

I think it would be easier to have all surgeries at once. I would hate to have to keep going back under a couple times more than I had too..lol But I hope things work out for you. I know it must suck having that painful blob in your booby. But 3 months will fly by.. believe me and then you'll be feeling much better. : )
