"This is the 911 dispatch. Someone called from this phone and we're calling back to make sure everything is okay."
I couldn't believe it! We don't have a 911 button, so he actually got his chubby little fingers on 9-1-1!
I was so sorry and he was really nice about it.
Some time later, I hear a knock...It's the police! I immediately invited him in b/c it was freezing rain and he explained that it's standard now in case of Domestic Violence and someone made me say that we were okay.
I asked him if he wanted to look around the house and he said no, that he could tell we were okay. (His name was Roscoe - he must get teased.)
Wild night! I am thankful that they wanted to make sure that we were okay. The kids thought it was a great adventure that the police came to OUR house!
Comments:
My next door neighbor killed herself last summer...I had to go help with everything that was going on. I didn't want my daughter over there for obvious reasons so I set her in front of her favorite movie & checked up on her every 15 minutes or so...I guess I took too long at one point, because as I was on my way back, a police woman asked if I was Lisa (I hadn't given any of the other cops my name, why would she know mine?) I said yes...why? She told me Eme had called 911!!! OMG! I explained to the officer that I was checking up on her constantly but was needed to help out next door...she just started laughing, saying everything was fine, that they obviously knew what was going on...I was so worried CPS would be showing up at my door any day! Eme still thinks that's just the funniest story that she called the cops on me!
