Part Five

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun has already set, the evening sky is aglow with the radiant light from a full moon.  My body shivers, but I no longer notice the cold.  Blisters cover my feet, my boots soaked through.  My clothes dripping, though the rain stopped hours ago.  The wolf leads on.  I wonder if our wandering will ever end.  The wolf does not bother to answer my mind's complaints.
Voices can be heard, but from where I cannot tell.  I can make out three distinct voices, but their words are beyond me.  In the path ahead, the wolf slows his pace, again sniffing at the air.  The hair on his neck stands on end.  For the first time since I started along this road with the wolf, I am afraid.
"Something isn't right, child.  Stay here."  The wolf commands as he once again starts up the path.  The sun begins to rise, to the music of growls and barks and the smell of blood.  I cannot see what is happening.  I pray for the safety of my guide, slipping quietly back along the path.
Hours pass, and the wolf does not return.  The voices can no longer be heard.  Once again, I am alone on my journey.  Alone, and lost.
Part Six
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again, the world around me faded.  I found myself once more in a room with dull white walls.  This time silence greets me.  The clock on the wall tells me I should be in bed.  So why am I alone on the floor?  Where is everyone?

I find the energy to drag my aching body to the bedroom.  Why does my body feel like it has been wandering in the woods for days?  Haven't I been here, in this drab apartment this whole time?  Wasn't the forest just a dream?

Sleep finds me, and I surrender.

Part Seven

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Awake again.  The walls are still white, but where is my bed?  Where the hell am I?  I do not recognize this blanket!  These are not my comfy pajamas!  Where is my child?  My bedroom?  The trees?
A woman in a tidy white dress walks into the room.  She walks over to the bed, where I still lay.  Why haven't I gotten out of the bed?  I try, and find that my arms and legs are tied down.  My heart races, my mind goes wild.  I scream.
The woman hushes me in an overly sweetened voice.  I don't even try to hear her.  In her hand is a needle.  The room goes dark, my mind goes blank.
And once again, I am left to wander alone...where will my mind take me this time?
Mar. 20, 2008 at 8:30 PM If you're not happy with it, then keep this until you can get back to it and just use it as a guide to where you want to be. Personally, I'd like to see a link, like what's happening in the "real world" that correlates to the "dream world". When you have time. I insist. ;-)
Mar. 21, 2008 at 1:36 AM I haven't decided which is the real world yet.  Thats the main problem I'm having.  I think I'm going to end up with the character actually being insane, making the real world the one with the irritating smiley nurse...but I'm not sure
