I don't usually spend the day, just dd and I, alone, but yesterday, my hubby persuaded me to take a chance, and take her somewhere. Who cares if she acts up, or ends up getting upset, little by little, she has to learn to be with me and I with her, alone w no one's help. So I took her to Toys R Us. She was so well behaved, put back the things I asked her to b/c they were too much money or she had simply picked out too much and had to choose. She was great at the register and the cashier was completely understanding of B's quirks then asked if I'd like to donate money for Autism Speaks. WOW, I said YES, my dd has autism, like a goof, and she smiled and told me about her 5yr old nephew just diagnosed.

We where leaving and I saw a store I wanted to go into to look for a top for myself, but I was w dd. I threw caution to the wind and figured, we'd already had success in TRU, so lets see.... She looked around with me and came back when I called her name to stop her from wondering off. She picked out some tops that she liked for herself and really wanted some skorts. I was so happy, I would've bought her the whole store, but we were in a plus size store and the skorts would've been too big. I will go back for the tops though. Her birthday is in April, so I explained to her that she would get sping/summer clothes for her birthday, like every other year. She accepted w little protest and we left.

It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and a nice cool breeze was blowing. I decided to go for a drive and we ended up in my home town, about 30  minutes from where we live. I took the scenic route where you can see the NYC skyline (I swear I saw Andrea's cruise ship!). I parked the car by a little sitting area and we got down to get a better view of the Hudson River and the skyscrapers. Bianca was so happy, she was hugging and kissing me, kissing my hand. She was inhaling the fresh air when the breeze blew and she held my hand and kissed it, like in gratitude. She sat on the benches, looked at the river and said "swim?? no swim, dirty water. Duck water!" She is so funny. She ran and flapped her hands to her hearts content. I snapped some pics which I will post in April.

Later we got back in the car and stopped for ice cream before going home. Such simple things make my daughter happy. I'd forgotten that. I'd forgotten that she'd taught me that too. That you don't need to do anything fancy, that you don't need to overthink things. Sometimes we just need to stop and take in a breath of fresh air and go with the flow. GOD I love her and am so thankful to her and my hubby for pushing my butt out the door with her.
