Yesterday, my husband helped his cousin, who owns a flower shop, deliver Easter flowers. His cousin sent him home with 6 floral arrangements in baskets, for each of our children, along with enough candy to fill additional baskets.
So, as we were hiding the candy baskets last night, I said to my husband, "Let's leave the floral baskets on the dining room table (which I had placed a big chocolate bunny in each) and let the kids think that they are their baskets." I got such a kick out of this idea- I never do stuff like this, by the way!
Well, needless to say the expression on their faces was priceless! They did not know what to think- they were expecting the baskets to be hidden first of all, and I am sure they were thinking, "Where is the candy- just one chocolate bunny?!"
Well, we did not lead them on for too long- we told them to look for their baskets, the bunny must have hid them somewhere! So, they found them and were quite happy, of course. I just was so tickled by this for some reason- I still keep chuckling at their expressions, I wish I had taken a picture, or better yet, filmed it!
We had a relaxed day- played outside most of it, and had a little egg hunt in the yard late in the afternoon. I hope you all had a great Easter!
Here is a picture of the floral arrangements and the chocolate bunnies, with three of my children- Darren, Hillary, and Sean.
