I really do!  And I feel like a horrible mother for it.  I took the kids out to the hair salon because I need to get my 1 year olds hair cut really bad... they were fine there.. Dominic even got his cut (shorter then I wanted but the friggen people NEVER listen)!  Then I had to go to the Lab to drop off a specimin (they're checking my kidneys & trying to find out why Im swelling as bad as I am) and get blood work.  The reason I hate taking the 1 year old anywhere is because I have to work around nap times & that doesnt always work so he's really cranky.  Another reason is because he absolutely hates being contained... ie: Strollers etc!  Then my 6 year old thinks hes old enough to just walk out of the Lab with out me!!!  I had to yell at him in a waiting room full of people... not once twice,  all the while my 1 year old tripped & hit his head on the metal leg of a chair!!!  So I look like a big asshole that cant control her children & is pregnant with another!  Then we get outside, I'm telling my 6 year old that he better start listening to me (quietly, not making a scene) & what does he do? Runs into the fucking parking lot!!!  Then away to walk along the wood outlining the flower boxes!!!  So I tell him to lets go, get in the car... and he starts acting up again!!!  So now Im yelling at him & these other women are looking at me like IM the one with the problem!  I cant stand it.  I know Im their mother & I just cant dump them on friends & family... but thats all I want to do... I hate taking them out.

Mar. 27, 2008 at 2:08 PM I thought of a suggestion for the 6 year old. I think you can still buy those things that you attach one end to you and the other to him. So, then he can't run off.

I am in the same boat as you. People wonder why I don't go to b-day parties. It is not that I don't want to go it is that if I go then I am running after them the whole time and not getting the chance to enjoy being there. My boys are 3 and almost 2.  Truthfully my oldest should listen but he has that little chip in him not listen to mommy when people are around..It feels that way. I am a stay at home mom and the boys and I stay at home.. Just got to keep working with them and don't worry about what others think just keep you kids safe..Good luck to you. God Bless

Mar. 27, 2008 at 10:58 PM I can totally relate.  I took Andrew in for a check up with the neurologist last week and James blew a fit that I made him stay in the stroller.  He made such a scene in the waiting room that I finally let him out.  BAD IDEA....he took the wooden blocks that were in the waiting room for kids to play with and started chucking them at the giant fish tank they had.  All I could see was the tank cracking and 50 gallons of water exploding everywhere.  I grabbed him and threw him back in the stroller kicking and screaming.  I'm sure the office staff was VERY glad when we finally got out of there!  Hang in there.  It's only another 17 years before they leave for college!!  LOL!
